COVID-19 TESTING for pre-admission, symptomatic and self-referred patients
NOTICE TO PATIENTS
Pre-admission / Symptomatic patients should be referred by their healthcare practitioner and present at the COVID testing facility with their original ID and Medical Aid card. Copies of each will be required.
Please bring proof of available day to day benefits from your medical aid when attending for the test.
COVID-19 Request forms are to be completed by the healthcare practitioner. A printed copy is required.
Self-referred patients requiring COVID-19 testing are requested to present at the COVID testing facility with:
- Original ID
- Completed COVID-19 Request form
- MoHSS Case Investigation Form (CIF)
Please note: Your Medical Aid will not make payment for self-referred testing
PAYMENTS
Patients using medical aid: If your medical aid covers COVID -19 testing, we will submit the claim on your behalf. Please Note: You are required to establish if testing is covered by your medical scheme. See: Medical Aid cover for COVID-19 Testing
RESULTS
Results will be available within 48 hours and will be forwarded to you via sms. Please wait for your doctor to contact you.

IMPORTANT:

- Original and Copy of your passport (needs to be captured on the report)
- Electronically completed PathCare Travel Request Form or
- Pathcare Trusted Travel Destinations Request Form (travellers must register on panabios.org)
TESTING INFORMATION
We are able to assist you with your travel COVID-19 PCR test and have the following two options available:
- We offer COVID-19 PCR Testing with a turnaround time ranging from 24 to 48 hours of receipt in the Eros, Windhoek laboratory
- WHO approved Rapid Antigen test which some countries have recently allowed (<5 Hrs turnaround time)
Payment must be paid before the sample is collected and this can be done at the swabbing facility.
The Chinese COVID-19 regulations require proof of negative results for both the SARS-CoV-2 PCR and Antibody IgM test.
Please familiarize yourself with the COVID-19 regulations of the country you intend the enter before making your appointment as result validity differs from country to country.

RESULTS
- We offer COVID-19 PCR Testing with a turnaround time ranging from 24 to 48 hours of receipt in the Eros, Windhoek laboratory
- WHO approved Rapid Antigen test which some countries have recently allowed (<5 Hrs turnaround time)
- This result is watermarked and stamped so there should be no need for you to collect a hard copy.

Travellers testing positive for COVID-19 are presumably asymptomatic. While false positive COVID-19 PCR tests do occur, false negative tests are frequently seen, especially in asymptomatic patients. Subsequent tests may prove negative depending on a range of factors including but not limited to the shedding rate of the virus, immune response and sample quality. Drs Shaw, Roux & Partners takes no responsibility for ANY claims of whatsoever nature or any consequential losses relating to test results falling within the aforementioned category. Furthermore, Dr Shaw, Roux and partners will make every effort to ensure the timely analysis of the sample, however we cannot take responsibility for reimbursing missed flights or other costs as a result of test results not being available.
