COVID-19 TESTING for pre-admission and symptomatic patients
Pre-admission / Symptomatic patients should be referred by their healthcare practitioner and present at the COVID testing facility with their original ID and Medical Aid card. Copies of each will be required.
COVID-19 Request forms are to be completed by the healthcare practitioner. A printed copy is required.. DOWNLOAD FORMS
Patients requiring COVID-19 testing for pre-admission, are encouraged to contact the PathCare branch at the Hospital of their admission.
Patients using medical aid: If your medical aid covers COVID -19 testing, we will submit the claim on your behalf. Please Note: You are required to establish if testing is covered by your medical scheme. See: Medical Aid cover for COVID-19 Testing
Results will be available within 48 hours and will be forwarded to you via sms. Please wait for your doctor to contact you.

Please Note: The Chinese COVID-19 regulations require proof of negative results for both the SARS-CoV-2 PCR and Antibody IgM test.
Results will be available within 36-48hours and will be forwarded to the traveller via email.
This result is watermarked and stamped so there should be no need for you to collect a hard copy.
TRAVEL DISCLAIMER - IMPORTANT!
Travellers testing positive for COVID-19 are presumably asymptomatic. While false positive COVID-19 PCR tests do occur, false negative tests are frequently seen, especially in asymptomatic patients. Subsequent tests may prove negative depending on a range of factors including but not limited to the shedding rate of the virus, immune response and sample quality. Drs Shaw, Roux & Partners takes no responsibility for ANY claims of whatsoever nature or any consequential losses relating to test results falling within the aforementioned category. Furthermore, Dr Shaw, Roux and partners will make every effort to ensure the timely analysis of the sample, however we cannot take responsibility for reimbursing missed flights or other costs as a result of test results not being available.
